I first met Pam in the 6th form at East Ham Grammar School. Along with Chris Tilley, we three studied for our A Level in Geography and became unseparable. Our most fun time, I remember, was when we were on a school geography trip to the Yorkshire Wolds and we climbed out of the window to meet the boys at the local pub. We also hitched a lift back to the hostel after an orienteering exercise where they dropped us in the middle of nowhere to find our own way back. We made it most of the way and at least we found a road. Have to say it wasn't Pam, my feet hurt and I was the ringleader! Though we didn't see each other often, when we met or talked it was like going back 50 years, and we just picked up where we left off, the relationship was that strong. I loved her throughout and can still hear that special chuckle of hers, which, with her everlasting smile will remain in my memory forever. Love you Pam, and thinking of Lawrie, Leila and Rick.
